The short history of the youth card
Once upon a time the Youth workers in the City of Joensuu had a problem: how to collect statistics about the youth visiting youth cafés in a modern way and also collect all of the services they provide to youth on the same address? Website nuortenjoensuu.fi was developed as a solution to this problem. The very first version of the Youth card was developed.
The Youth card is developed in co-operation with youth work professionals.
With the Youth card all of the youth cafés can collect their statistics in the same place, where they can be found easily in a digital form. On the same website they collect information for the youth; events, information about the youth cafés and hobbies targetted to them.
Use case example - youth café whisper
Youth café Whisper uses the Youth card to collect statistics of the visitors in the center and also as a communication tool between the staff and the youth. Each visitor has their own Youth card, which they scan every time they visit at Whisper.
With the Youth card you can:
- Collect statistics and create summaries based on them
- Inform the youth about upcoming events
- Collect contact information and other important info in digital form and also let the youth to manage their own information.
